In a recent road traffic stop a driver of a articulated HGV was pulled over as they were seen texting whilst driving.
Once stopped, the Operations Patrol Unit for Worcestershire which runs roads policing for, West Mercia Police conducted an inspection of the vehicle and found the vehicle had a defective tyre with the cord exposed. The report went onto to state that the driver has been reported for the offences and vehicle prohibited.
Operation Tramline, who the driver was stopped by, is supporting Highways England’s road safety target to decrease at least 40% of the number of people killed or seriously injured on the strategic road network (SRN), 4,300 miles of motorways and major A roads.
