Driving licence extensions ending
Posted by AndrewT on 11th Nov 2021
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, driving licences that were to expire between February and December 2020 were given an automatic 11 month extension. The extension started from the date your driving licence was due to expire. This means any driving licences which were due to expire last December will need to be renewed by the end of November 2021.
Drivers in this situation should be made aware of potential delays at DVLA so they do not get caught caught out by delays with DVLA services as a result of social distancing measures and sickness. The DVLA are warning that paper applications are taking between six and ten weeks to process but there “may be longer delays”.
The answer is to do it online at https://www.gov.uk/renew-driving-licence.
