Following an investigation by DVA Enforcement Officers into the operation of 19 vehicles owned by Brinks Ireland Ltd, the company was fined £600 on 15 October 2013 for failing to produce tachograph records.
The company also received a conditional discharge on 11 counts of failing to produce tachograph records, a conditional discharge in relation to a failure to make regular checks and a conditional discharge on two counts of defective recording equipment.
A representative of Brinks Ireland Ltd admitted that the company did not have proper procedures in place to identify the failings and those that were in place were not robust enough.
