No access to France for 48 hours
Posted by AndrewT on 21st Dec 2020
On Sunday 20 December 2020 the French Government announced that all passenger transport and accompanied freight from the UK will not be able to access France. The restriction will last 48 hours from 11pm (GMT) 20 December. Hauliers should avoid travelling to Kent ports and Eurotunnel and any other routes to France for 48 hours.
Unaccompanied freight will continue to be able to travel to France and inbound freight will still be allowed to come to the UK. The Prime Minister will chair a meeting tomorrow to discuss the steady flow of freight into and out of the UK. Hauliers seeking alternative paths must ensure they have made the correct arrangements to travel via that route.
Things can change very quickly and operators are encouraged to check the latest information at Gov.UK.
