JAUPT to become a part of the DVSA

6th Oct 2022

An announcement this week from the DVSA revealed that the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) will become a part of the DVSA.

JAUPT is responsible for processing applications from training providers for centre and course approvals for Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) and drink-drive rehabilitation (DDR).

These services have been offered exclusively to the DVSA, with the takeover it’ll now bring these functions of the JAUPT in-house.

The DVSA also mentioned that existing staff of JAUPT have been offered positions within the DVSA to minimise disruption of service to Driver CPC training providers.

The statement reassured that “At the moment the website and the way Driver CPC courses are searched for through the current JAUPT website which is linked to from GOV.UK will stay the same.

“The way courses and centres are approved and audited will remain the same so that the number of courses and quality of training is not affected.”

How to Contact JAUPT

The phone number for enquiries will continue to be 01908 787 000 and the email for general enquiries is enquiries@jaupt.org.uk

The address for JAUPT will change on 1 October to:

Suite 208, Cubix, Noble House, Capital Drive, Linford Wood, Milton Keynes. MK14 6QP

The DVSA rounded up the announcement saying that over the next few months there will be changes to JAUPT as the transition progresses and they’ll send updates through the usual channels.
