Faulty driver cards finally resolved – Enforcement activities to commence 1st July
Posted by AndrewT on 21st Jun 2012
DVLA have now resolved the issue of faulty driver and company cards that was first reported at the end of March when cards started failing without warning.
The temporary suspension of the 15 day rule will come to an end on 30 June 2012.
The DVLA have now written to drivers to inform them that from 1 July, VOSA and the authorities will re-instate enforcement activities for all drivers with no exemptions for reported faulty cards. All drivers will be subject to the normal rules. This includes penalties for driving without a card, breaches of drivers’ hours and tachograph infringements.
For help and advice on drivers’ hours, WTD and tachograph legislation see Compliance & advice or contact support@exentra.co.uk. VOSA also produce drivers’ hours and Tachograph guides which will also help.
In the meantime it is good practice to take a daily printout of your tachograph records. Printer rolls are available our online shop.
