School coach service suspended for drivers’ hours infringements

A Coach firm providing transport for school children was suspended for two weeks for ‘significant shortfalls’ in drivers’ hours records management.
The coach operator was found to have inadequate records of drivers’ hours and breaks.
Drivers’ hours records were inaccurate, with more than 600km of mileage missing from records for one vehicle, in just two months.
Nick Denton, the transport commissioner for London and the south east, said that the Transport Manager “appeared for much of the inquiry to be in a
state of denial about his failure to comply.
As a result the licence to operate was suspended from January 1.
The Transport Manager was told to create the right record-keeping systems during the two-week period and attend a two-day CPC refresher course by the end of March.
