Loaning HGVs can be more expensive than you might think.

A farmer was recently fined £500 after he failed to produce tachograph charts for a HGV he loaned to a friend. The driver was also prosecuted and fined £350. The vehicle was used sporadically by the farmer and he loaned it to a friend whose own vehicle had broken down. Gabriel McCauley, of Shankill, Garvery, Enniskillen, admitted the offence and that he failed to ensure the driver produced the tachograph charts within 42 days. With Smartanalysis you only pay for the digital data or analogue charts submitted for analysis so it is very cost effective when vehicles are used infrequently. In this case an investment of pennies would have saved the owner hundreds of pounds!
